Commercial triple glazing — shopfront, office, hospitality & education spec

Triple-glazed sealed units built to commercial spec — oversized panels, trade lead times, and full BS-EN documentation pack on every order. Pane Relief supplies TG units to glaziers, shopfitters, M&E contractors, and main contractors working on offices, retail units, hospitality fit-outs, schools, healthcare estates, and listed-building consents that demand both thermal and acoustic performance. Stock-spec 44mm and 52mm triple-glazed configurations (4-12-4-12-4 argon or krypton, soft-coat low-E on two surfaces) hit U-values from 0.6 W/m²K — well inside Part L 2026 and Future Homes Standard for non-domestic.

Specifier / M&E

Architects, M&E consultants, building control

U-values from 0.6 W/m²K, g-values from 0.30, Rw to 41dB on laminated triple builds. We issue Declaration of Performance (BS EN 1279), Performance Data Sheets, BIM-ready glass schedules, and CWCT shopfront test data on request. Pre-quote spec consultation with our technical desk on +44 (0)117 330 3057.

Which commercial application?

Six common commercial TG scenarios. Pick the closest match — each links to the relevant flagship product or filtered range.

Spec, source, and site-deliver — how we work with contractors

Commercial orders rarely fit a stock-spec dropdown. Here's how a typical contractor quote flows.

5-stage commercial workflow

  1. Send the glass schedule (PDF, Excel, or DWG) to trade@panerelief.co.uk — we'll quote inside 48 hours with U-value, g-value, Rw, and Pa wind-load figures.
  2. Approve the spec, sign the trade account application (Net 30 terms subject to credit check), or pay pro-forma if preferred.
  3. We manufacture against your programme — typical lead 14-21 working days for non-stock commercial spec; expedite available.
  4. Pre-delivery photos and unit-by-unit kitemark / CE / UKCA stamp record sent before dispatch.
  5. Booked site delivery on stillage, hiab if required, with banksman support to ground level. POD signed on-site.

Pricing & documentation

Commercial pricing is quote-based, not list-priced — too many spec variables (interlayer, coating combination, krypton vs argon, edge-spacer type, kitemark, fire-rating). The "From £X" indicators on this collection reflect our smallest stock-spec equivalent for benchmarking only.

Every order ships with: Declaration of Performance (BS EN 1279-5), UKCA / CE mark certificate, U-value & g-value test data, and on request: BIM-ready glass schedule, CWCT shopfront compliance, BS 476 fire-rating evidence.

Commercial triple glazing — FAQ for specifiers

Q: Do you supply to BS / CWCT shopfront standards?

Yes. Toughened triple-glazed shopfront units comply with BS EN 12150 (toughened safety glass), BS EN 1279 (sealed unit durability), and where used in CWCT-tested shopfront systems (e.g. Schueco FW50+, Reynaers CW86, Kawneer 1202) we supply matching unit spec and Performance Data Sheets. We can provide third-party CWCT TN66 / TN67 weatherability and impact-test evidence on request for the unit build (not the framing system).

Q: Can you do fire-rated triple glazing (BS 476 Pt 22)?

Yes — on enquiry. Fire-rated triple glazing is a hybrid build: the fire-protective pane (Pilkington Pyrostop, Pyrodur, Schott Pyran or Vetrotech Contraflam) is integrated as one or more of the three panes in a TG sandwich, retaining EI30, EI60, or E120 integrity-only ratings. Always quote the framing system you're glazing into — fire-rating is a glass + frame + intumescent gasket assembly, not a glass-only certification.

Q: What's the max size for an oversized commercial TG panel?

Stock-spec to 3200×1800mm on our standard production line. Beyond that we use partner jumbo-plate manufacturers — anything up to 6000×3210mm on enquiry. Weight rises rapidly: a 3000×1500mm TG unit at 12-12mm spacer is around 230kg, so factor in stillage delivery, hiab unload, and frame structural capacity.

Q: What U-value can you hit?

Stock TG spec at 44mm or 52mm with argon fill, two soft-coat low-E surfaces, and warm-edge spacer hits U-value 0.6-0.8 W/m²K (centre-pane). Krypton fill drops that further to ~0.5 W/m²K on a 52mm 4-16-4-16-4 build. Whole-window U-value will be higher (typically +0.3-0.5) depending on the frame's thermal break performance. We can model the centre-pane U-value for your specific build on request.

Q: Acoustic performance — what dB ratings can you reach?

Standard 44mm TG hits around Rw 35-37dB. Stepping the outer pane to 6.4mm or 6.8mm laminated acoustic glass (Pilkington Optiphon or Saint-Gobain Stadip Silence) lifts that to Rw 39-41dB. For Building Bulletin 93 classroom acoustics or BS 8233 residential-near-busy-road compliance, we'll quote a laminated TG build matched to the target dB(A) reduction.

Q: Do you supply BIM models / CAD blocks for design coordination?

For standard sealed-unit builds, no — the unit is too thin and geometrically simple to warrant a Revit family. We supply the glass schedule in your preferred format (Excel, CSV, PDF) and unit-level performance data (U-value, g-value, Rw, light transmittance, reflectance) that your facade modeller can pull into the building energy model and IES / DesignBuilder simulation.

Q: What insurance / compliance documentation can you provide?

Public liability £10M, products liability £5M, employers' liability £10M. We're CHAS-accredited, registered on Constructionline Gold, and SSIP-aligned. ISO 9001 quality system in place; ISO 14001 environmental management. Evidence pack issued on request before contract award.

Q: Lead times and delivery for commercial orders?

Stock-spec commercial TG: 10-14 working days. Non-stock spec (acoustic, fire-rated, oversized, krypton): 14-21 working days. Expedite to 7 working days available on enquiry for genuine programme emergencies. Site delivery booked to your slot — we'll work to the principal contractor's logistics plan. Stillage return collected free on the next delivery.

Q: Can you support a design-and-build retrofit on an existing curtain wall?

Yes. Send drawings or photos of the existing curtain wall — we'll specify a like-for-like or upgraded unit spec, quote with breakdown by unit and elevation, and coordinate with your facade replacement programme. Typical retrofit scope is glass-only swap; we don't supply or fit the carrier system, but we work routinely alongside Schueco-, Reynaers-, and Kawneer-trained installation teams.
