Most-ordered units — the flagships that handle ~70% of our orders

Start here if you're not sure where to start. These are the sealed-unit flagships that handle the bulk of our weekly throughput — the units real homeowners, glaziers, and developers reorder most often. If one of these matches your job (a replacement window pane, a misted door insert, a French-door panel, a stock conservatory roof unit), you'll get the best price, the fastest lead time, and the lowest mis-spec risk. If none of them match — that's fine too, the configurator handles anything rectangular and most shapes besides.

Homeowner

One blown unit, one quick replacement

If you've Googled "misted glass replacement" and landed here, you're in the right place. The flagships below are the four or five units that solve 70% of homeowner jobs — typically a UPVC casement at 600×900mm, a French-door pair, or a composite-door insert. Free UK mainland delivery, 5-7 working days on stock, 10-year edge-seal warranty as standard.

Trade

The stock you reorder every week

If you're a glazier, installer, or maintenance contractor running a steady job-list — the flagships are the stock you'll reorder weekly. Tier pricing kicks in at 5+ units; trade accounts (Net 30, scheduled delivery, priority dispatch) cut admin and free up your van. Most flagship spec is in stock for next-day dispatch.

Six routes into the most-ordered range

Pick the closest match to your job — each tile links to the flagship product or a filtered slice of the range.

Why these flagships? And how to be sure one fits your job

"Most-ordered" sounds vague — here's the actual cut and how to map your job onto it.

The decision tree

  1. Window pane (not a door)? — default to standard DG flagship at the closest stock size up from your measurement.
  2. Door — and there's a glass panel in it? — default to door glass flagship, toughened, 24mm, low-E.
  3. Composite door with an oval / rectangular insert? — pick one of the four composite insert stock sizes, or configure a custom.
  4. Conservatory? — roof = self-cleaning solar-control flagship, sides = laminated for ground-floor safety.
  5. Want to upgrade thermal/acoustic? — step up to triple-glazed or acoustic laminated at the configurator.

Why the flagship is usually the right call

Flagship sizes are stocked, pre-cut, and produced in batch — that's why they ship in 5-7 days and undercut bespoke configurations on price. Roughly 7 in 10 of our homeowner orders fit a flagship size within a 10-15mm tolerance, which is why the "measure to the rebate, round up" approach lands so often on a stock unit.

If your measurement falls between flagship sizes, the configurator is genuinely cheaper than special-ordering a non-standard "near-stock" cut.

Most-ordered units — common questions

Q: What if my size isn't on this list?

That's the configurator's job. The flagships cover the ~70% of orders that cluster around common UPVC and composite-door dimensions; the configurator handles the other 30% — bespoke rectangles, shaped units, oversized panels, and non-standard specs (acoustic, fire-rated, krypton-filled). You'll see live pricing as you change dimensions, and the spec sanity-check warns you if your build is impractical.

Q: Is "most-ordered" the same as "best"?

For roughly 7 in 10 jobs, yes — the flagship spec is the right spec, just at a more competitive price than a bespoke equivalent. For the other 3 in 10, "best" might mean stepping up to triple-glazing, an acoustic laminate (busy road / flightpath), a solar-control coating (south-facing oversized window), or a fire-rated build (Building Regs Part B). The configurator surfaces those upgrades inline so you can compare.

Q: Are these in stock for next-day dispatch?

Most flagship DG units in stock sizes are produced to order on a 5-7 working day cycle — we don't typically hold pre-built finished stock because batch-to-spec is more efficient. For genuine emergencies (storm damage, vandalism, insurance jobs) call the helpline on 0117 330 3057 — we can usually expedite a stock-spec unit to 2-3 working days, and we keep a same-day boarding contact list for the South West.

Q: Why does the same size in the flagship cost less than via the configurator?

Three reasons: batch production (cutting four flagship panes from one plate beats one bespoke cut from one plate), pre-validated spec (no engineer-time spent sanity-checking unusual builds), and inventory turnover (the spec is on our weekly production schedule whether you order it or not). On non-flagship sizes the configurator IS the right route, but for flagship sizes the price advantage is real.

Q: Do the flagships come with the same warranty as bespoke units?

Yes — every sealed unit we ship, flagship or bespoke, carries the same 10-year manufacturer warranty on edge-seal integrity (BS EN 1279-2 compliant), 5-year on low-E and solar-control coatings, and 1-year on coating optical performance. Warranty cover is identical regardless of whether you ordered a flagship size or a bespoke configurator build.

Q: How do I know if my measurements match a flagship size?

Measure the visible glass first (the bit you see when the window is closed), then add 6mm to each dimension to get the sealed-unit size (the 3mm "tuck" into each side of the rebate). Compare against the flagship size list on each product page. If you're within 10-15mm of a flagship size, the flagship is almost certainly right — if you're further off, the configurator gets you a tighter fit at the right price.

Q: Can I order multiple flagships at trade pricing if I'm not formally a glazier?

Yes — the tier discounts kick in by quantity, not by trade status. Five or more units of the same flagship spec at one delivery address triggers 5% off; 20+ triggers 10% off; 50+ is bespoke quote. Formal trade accounts add Net 30 terms and scheduled delivery but aren't required to access the bulk-discount tiers.

Q: What if the flagship needs a safety-glass upgrade for my install?

Safety upgrades (toughened to BS EN 12150, or laminated to BS EN 14449) are spec options at the flagship product page — not a separate product. Building Regs Approved Document N requires safety glass for any pane within 300mm of a door edge or below 1500mm from the floor in a door or sidelight. We default-toughen flagship door units; for windows the safety upgrade is optional and surfaced as a checkbox on the product page.
